🏍️ Soichiro Honda: From a Poor Blacksmith to a Global Auto Giant

Soichiro Honda was born on November 17, 1906, in Japan 🇯🇵 to a rural blacksmith family. From an early age, he loved mechanics, but had no formal education. In 1937, he founded Tōkai Seiki, producing piston rings for Toyota. During World War II, his factories were destroyed, and he sold the remnants to Toyota for ¥450,000 to establish the Honda Technical Research Institute in 1946.

In 1948, he founded Honda Motor Co., Ltd., starting with motorized bicycles 🚴. By 1959, the company entered the U.S. market, and by 1965, it became the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer with $77 million turnover.

Today, Honda is a global corporation 🌍 producing cars, motorcycles, engines, and even rockets 🚀. In 2024, revenue reached ¥22 trillion (~$150B), with net profit of ¥1.1 trillion (~$7.6B). Honda is the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and internal combustion engines.

Key lesson: Even without formal education or large capital, persistence, innovation, and belief in your ideas can create a global corporation 💪.
